TERMS OF SERVICE
Venue and Performance Requirements

To ensure the highest quality of performance and the safety of our musicians and their valuable instruments, the following site requirements must be strictly adhered to. Failure to provide these conditions on the day may result in the musicians being unable to perform, and no refund will be issued.

Seating: One armless chair per musician must be provided and set up prior to our arrival.

Environmental Protection: Complete shelter from direct sunlight, rain, wind, and sand is mandatory. Instruments cannot be exposed to the elements.

Sand Proximity: Performance areas must be located a minimum of 20 metres away from any sand.

Spatial Requirements: We require the following minimum floor space based on your booking:

Soloist: 1.5m x 1m
Duo: 1.1m x 1.6m
Trio: 1.6m x 2m
Quartet: 1.6m x 2.5m

Breaks and Meals: For bookings exceeding 1.5 hours, a 10-minute break per hour is required. For bookings exceeding 3 hours, the client must provide a 20-minute meal break and one standard meal per musician.

Equipment (Pianists): If your booking includes a pianist, a fully tuned piano must be supplied by the venue.

Repertoire: While we strive to accommodate all preferences, specific song requests cannot be guaranteed for events booked within 5 days of the performance date.

Amplification: For events exceeding 100 guests (excluding wedding ceremonies and funerals), we highly recommend the client provides amplification to ensure the music is clearly audible to all attendees.

Payment and Overtime Fees

Deposit & Balance: A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking date. The remaining balance must be paid in full at least 30 days prior to the event.

Surcharges & After-Hours: Credit card payments incur a standard 3.5% processing surcharge. Bookings commencing between 9:00 PM and 9:00 AM will attract a 20% after-hours fee.

Overtime: Any performance time extending beyond the original booking is strictly subject to the musicians’ availability on the day. Overtime is billed at $50 per 10-minute increment, per musician. To avoid unexpected charges, we strongly advise booking adequate time in advance.

Cancellations and Postponements

Refund Policy: String Musicians Australia does not issue monetary refunds under any circumstances.

Credits: If you need to cancel or postpone your event, a full business credit will be provided, strictly on the condition that we receive at least 30 days’ written notice.

Postponements: Issued credits remain valid for use toward a postponed event for up to 2 years from the original event date.

Liability and Binding Agreement

Venue Accuracy: The Client is strictly responsible for providing complete and correct event details, including the exact date, time, and specific street address of the venue. String Musicians Australia accepts no liability, and no refunds will be issued, for missed or delayed performances resulting from vague, inaccurate, or incorrect location information provided by the Client.

Agreement Status: In the absence of a physically signed document, the submission of our online booking form, acceptance of these Terms of Service, and all subsequent email correspondence constitute a legally binding agreement between the Client and String Musicians Australia.
